You see, this year's New Year's Gift is a baby! Aurora Natalia Nichols. Aurora for greek goddess of the dawn or the the "light" word in Aurora Borealias, like you can see in Alaska, and Natalia for or in reference to our Savior Jesus Christ. Ah, what a happy name. Nichols, harldy picked, but certainly loved, means son of warrior, but in this case, maybe we'll adjust to daughter of warrior. It's a little more applicable. :)
Granted, she's but 18 weeks along in her mother, but we believe she'll be great (wouldn't it be akward to publish this, only to find that at the next ultrasound she's a boy, not a girl!) Oh well. We'll see, but only girls names will even stick, so we feel she's our little Aurora and won't change our ideas until scientifically proven otherwise! Oh, what a smile that I feel!

The New Year's Gift, Year 2
I don't yet have it in me to write this year's entry. Call my heart closed to grief. So many times I've given the advice that behind the grief is love. Writing this at least reminded me, and had me feel a little of love. After all what better love can there be than that was born of Charity, which faileth not, which is not puffed up, which loveth all things, beareth all things, hopeth all things, and endureth all things. (Last bit inspired by Moroni 7, Book of Mormon.) Read the chapter behind this link. I promise it'll be a true new year's gift to yourself.
